BIO
MV Caldera is a Venezuelan singer-songwriter, musician, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and two-time Latin Grammy nominee whose career spans performance, songwriting, recording, vocal production, and music production.
Born and raised in Maracaibo, Venezuela, Caldera holds a degree in Music from Universidad Católica Cecilio Acosta and a Master’s degree in Music from the University of Edinburgh. After moving to New York City, she expanded her professional career as a sound engineer and vocal coach, working at Lush Studio beginning in 2013.
Her work has received significant recognition within the Latin music industry. In 2014, Caldera received a Latin Grammy nomination for her work with Venezuelan trumpeter, singer, and composer Linda Briceño. Her album “Segundo Piso,” created and co-produced with Briceño, later won the Latin Grammy Award in the Producer of the Year category in 2018, marking an important milestone in her career as a producer.
Caldera has also received multiple Pepsi Music Award nominations. From 2018 through 2021, she was nominated in categories including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. In 2022, her album “Reencuentro” earned nominations for Best Pop Album and Best Video.
Her journey as a performer gained national attention in Venezuela through the popular Televen reality competition “Camino a la Fama,” where she finished in second place. That experience became an early platform for a career that would eventually take her to stages throughout the United States, Latin America, and Europe.
Throughout her career, MV Caldera has shared stages and recording sessions with internationally recognized artists including Christina Aguilera, Diana Ross, Marc Anthony, Rubén Blades, Gipsy Kings, Pedro Capó, Brenda K. Starr, Leo Dan, and many others.
Her performance history includes some of the world’s most recognized venues and cultural institutions, including Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, Rockefeller Center, the United Nations and United Palace in New York City, as well as Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts. Her international appearances include Zócalo de Puebla, Televisa, TV Azteca, Telehit and MTV in Mexico; Pachencho Romero Stadium and Sábado Sensacional in Venezuela; Hobby Center, Fitzgerald’s and Queensbury Theatre in Houston; Mesa Arts Center and Valley Bar in Phoenix; Strings Studio in Miami; and venues throughout Spain including Sala Monasterio and JazzSí Club in Barcelona, Sala Berlín in Madrid and Sala Nau in Barcelona.
As a recording artist, Caldera has developed a catalog that reflects her Venezuelan roots, extensive musical training, and years of experience working across different styles and cultures. Her work brings together elements of Latin music, Caribbean rhythms, jazz, pop, and Venezuelan traditional music while maintaining a strong connection to her identity as a songwriter and producer.
In 2026, MV Caldera released “Ancestros,” her fifth studio album, produced by Osmer Diana and MV Caldera and mixed by Kevin Carafa. The album revisits songs and musical traditions connected to her childhood and Latin American heritage, blending Venezuelan and Afro-Caribbean influences with contemporary production and rhythms including salsa, merengue, batucada, flamenco, and pop.
With five albums and an extensive career both onstage and in the studio, MV Caldera continues to build a body of work deeply connected to her Venezuelan heritage while developing her sound as an independent artist, songwriter, musician, and producer.
